So it's nearly mid-August. So You Think You Can Dance US season 5 has ended, and SYTYCD Canada season 2 has just begun. The way things are going I'll never be without reality TV dance shows ! I became smitten this time, with Kupono Aweau . So inspiring! Creativity, personality, and easy on the eyes besides . Then he was gone . At least they brought him back for an encore of the "Addiction" routine he did with Kayla. I just hope that's not the last I ever see of him ....

What now? I'm back from vacation in PEI, as close to tanned as I could ever hope to be, working and taking a 6-day jazz dance workshop. 90 minutes every evening, with a teacher from LA named Jill Straus. She's great - so much positive energy! In the meantime I'll be playing catch-up with other art-related tasks, while eyeing a post-undergrad future.

Seems like the days are shorter, even though actually there's more 'day'(light) to be had. When you grow up, minutes and seconds are smaller, but days, months, even years all seem shorter. When I was a kid, summer lasted forever. This one can last a little longer, at least, without school to go back to .

Just tried to upload a new piece in JPEG format, but it looks as if videos aren't the only thing not getting accepted right now. In light of that, I'm saving the blurb I wrote here, so I can just copy & paste it when things start working again:

This was part of a commission for , who is a Final Fantasy fan (and more importantly, 8-Bit Theater) . It took way longer than I thought it would, but was worth it in the end.

The robe is broadclothe with polyester lining. The mask was made form an old, stretchy (possibly lycra) shirt I had lying around, with eyes made from the same plastic mesh I used to make the hat. helped me make the hat.

I think the Fan Art category could use a costume/textiles division. The closest I could get was "traditional", which would have been fine except I could only choose drawing or painting after that. Will have to see if I can suggest it....

It's a bright sunny day out there. Will be going out soon. That'll be nice....Not much to say right now, I guess. Later world!

Some of you might have noticed I'm working on a new calendar, one featuring the signs of Chinese astrology. Problem is, I'm unclear on two of them. They are the fourth one, which I'm pretty sure is a rabbit, but might be a hare, and the 8th one, which I'm less sure about, whether it's a sheep or a goat. I've done some rudamentary online searching, and I'm pretty sure about the rabbit, but the goat and sheep seem to be equally likely. I'm going to keep it as a goat for now, but I'd like to throw it out to you guys and see what the concensus is.

It looks sunny out there right now. I hope it stays that way so I can bike to work and back. June is going by fast and furious. Gotta be careful not to take it for granted, even though what I'm really looking forward to is August and my vacation. At the moment my schedule is pretty clear, leaving lots of room for work and earning money. Of course, that doesn't have to be strictly a summer thing anymore. I'm very interested to see how I feel in September, when I don't have to cut my work hours for classes, buy school supplies, pay for tuition, or anything like that.
